Music Notes...K-1-2. This is the news "notes" fro this year. This has been a busy but exciting year, although it always seems as if there are so many more things we could do. We also evaluate how we have accomplished the "standards" the best we could in the time that we have. The kindergartners have worked hard on steady beat and their singing voices as well as many other important things they need to accomplish. We have some very good singers in Kindergarten this year. They have been fun classes to work with. The first grades have also had a very busy year accomplishing the requirements needed for 1st grade. There was also their "Barnyard Moosical" which they just recently performed. That was so much fun for all of us. Thanks again to all those who helped make it a success. The children gained so much poise and self confidence in that experience. The second grades has also accomplished much this year. It is always a challenge to get as much done as we would like as they have a lot to cover. their last performance is coming up at the last Open House/PTA which will take place on Thursday, May 6th (6:30/7:00 pm). They have a neat "Blue Grass" style song which you may know called "Old Joe Clark." We hope to see you then! Mrs. Chapman, Music Teacher |
Music Notes...3rd-4th-5th: Wow!! I can't believe this year is almost over. It has really gone by fast! As we move in the last few weeks of the school year, there are a few dates that you will not want to miss! Please make sure and mark these dates on your calendar. The Fourth Graders and O'Loughlin Singers will be performing a few songs for the awards night and final PTA meeting, May 6 at 7 pm in the O'Loughlin Gymnasium. On the morning of May 7, the O'Loughlin Singers will be going on their Spring Tour to Cedar View and Alterra Sterling House. After the tour, they will enjoy pizza at the school. Watch for a note concerning specific information concerning this tour! At this time I would like to thank the commitment that these students have given to Singers. I was honored to teach this group and proud of each student!! I hope the 5th graders never forget the value that music plays in their lives and continue to participate in music programs in their middle and high school careers. Fourth graders, I would love to have you join Singers again next year! Mrs. Westhusin, Music Teacher |
